Brian Montgomery is a current Frederiksted resident, restauranteur, and entrepreneur. After moving to Frederiksted in August of 2017, and then experiencing Hurricanes Irma and Maria, he opened three restaurants in the town of Frederiksted, Louie & Nacho’s, Smoke STX, and 7 Asian Fusion, as well as renovated and restored the historic Victoria House into much needed vacation and rental units. He most recently acquired Turtles Deli and is expanding their offerings and services. After the hurricanes, he joined in the reconstruction efforts in the USVI by working with FEMA in the initial phases to help repair homes and then working on the roofing program in St Croix and St Thomas. Prior to moving to St Croix, Mr. Montgomery moved to Washington D.C. after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY Brockport where he began his career in the non-profit arena. He spent 8 years as the CFO and Treasurer for the non-profit, public interest law firm, Institute for Justice. In 2007, he opened his first business, Tortoise & Hare Bar and Grille, in Arlington, VA, and operated this restaurant, bar, and catering company for the next ten years before deciding to move to Frederiksted.
